So Easter arrived and we decided to try out an egg hunt for Ada.

We got Ada ready with an egg carton in her push cart thing to gather. We had also inadvertently done some training previously by giving her the "Hide and Squeak" eggs toy months ago.
After being distracted by a book (which we had to explain was not an egg)...

| Wait a minute... |
Which, amazingly, she sprint-crawled towards to collect, without any further prompting from us.

| Gotcha! |
She then found the rest of the eggs, and carefully (mostly) placed them in the egg carton in her cart. It was a great success! The only down side was my poor judgement in putting the egg that had a face on it (that Mark drew, in the picture above), in the hippopotamus's mouth on her "activity center." That one we had to show Ada since it wasn't visible, and then she got a little freaked out by it. In hindsight, a face inside a hippo's mouth was maybe a bit gruesome for a kid's first Easter hunt. Oops.
But that aside, Ada seemed to enjoy it. I was just surprised that it went as well as it did. We did it two more times; probably more for me than Ada, since I was so delighted that she "got it."
Then we went to Brean and had a British style egg hunt for (BIG) chocolate eggs in the backyard with Nanny Kate and Auntie Sarah. Ada didn't do too much hunting, but she seemed to like carrying the spoils around.

Did she get to eat any of the chocolate eggs?
Not yet. We just didn't on Easter and then I keep forgetting at home. But at nursery they gave her a little bit of cake on Tuesday (with our blessing) and she just spit it out. She really isn't interested so far. But maybe we just haven't tried the right thing yet...
But it's probably good because Mark and I have already eaten two of the eggs...
