Weekly Ada: 13 April 13: including her first haircut!

As mentioned in the previous post, Ada was acting better by the end of the day on Sunday and was eating OK (though not very much) on Monday. We sent her to daycare on Tuesday, but she had trouble keeping things down again so they sent her home. That meant that she couldn't go back for 48 hours, so she couldn't go in on Wednesday, and she's normally home on a Thursday any way. Lots of home time.

We seized the opportunity to do some more media training, trying to nurture the addiction so when we have long haul flights all she wants to do is stare dead-eyed into a screen. And I hear TVs make excellent babysitters. We're making progress - soon we won't be needed at all. Nice!

That's a Wii-mote, not the remote, but it doesn't matter

On Thursday, we went to the library. We haven't visited since she's been walking and standing, so she had a good time trying out all of the chairs.

We made a couple of trips to the park..

And finally, we've been noticing that her bangs/fringe were getting a bit long and starting to get into her eyes, so we decided it was time for her first trim. All we did was the little bit over her eyes so we didn't have to brush them out of the way all the time. The picture below doesn't really show how much her hair was getting into her eyes.

A lifetime of crooked home haircuts has begun

Good haircuts and bad haircuts grow out fast (unfortunately and fortunately). I took the kids to a professional place that specialized in kids once, and it was not worth it. I'm sure it will matter more when they start caring what they look like, that is once other people start calling them out for how they look... sigh.
